Rotary International does humanitarian service worldwide to alleviate poverty, sickness, injustice and, in general, works to make the world a better place. The Community Service Committee of our club does the same thing for the Estes Valley Director: Bill Wachs Community Projects Committee – responsible for evaluation of suggested community needs projects; identifies plans and coordinates the projects that address that need. Nominates to the club board annually candidate/s for a “Community Achievement Award”. Environment Committee – develops projects to enhance the quality of the environment in Estes Park. This includes highway and river clean-up projects. Duck Race Committee – organize, plan and carry out the activities of the annual Duck Race. This activity is committed to support the charities of the Estes Valley. Farmer’s Market parking – work with the organizers of the summer farmer’s market to provide parking assistance for people attending this market. Immunization Committee – in collaboration with the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club, plan, coordinate and organizes participation in the annual immunization program. Pumpkin Distribution Committee – organize and implement the annual pumpkin distribution to elementary and intermediate school children. Salvation Army Bell Ringing Committee – coordinates and schedules the club’s participation in the Salvation Army’s holiday season bell ringing program. |
