The purpose of our International Service Directorate is to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of Service. INTERNATIONAL SERVICE: Jack Vaughan, Director SCHOLARS PROGRAMS – Promote and work with the Rotary District on the Rotary International scholarship programs. ANNUAL GIVING (EVERY ROTARIAN, EVERY YEAR) – Promote club member participation in the Every Rotarian, Every Year solicitation for the Rotary International Foundation Paul Harris sustaining memberships. FRIENDSHIP EXCHANGE - Provide accommodations and recreation for visiting Rotary Friendship Exchange members. Create interest in outbound club group and assist in organizing. GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE - Provide contacts with local business professionals in the same fields as those in the exchange team. Provide accommodations, if necessary, for visiting team members. Attempt to find local business professionals interested in participating in the outbound group Study Exchange team. PAUL HARRIS FELLOWSHIP - Educate members and community about the work of the Rotary International Foundation and obtain funds for the Foundation through Paul Harris Fellows, Sustaining Paul Harris Fellows and RI Benefactors. *YOUTH EXCHANGE – Committee interviews and selects a student for outbound exchange. Committee makes arrangements for host families for our inbound student and meets the student upon arrival. Committee members introduce incoming student to the Rotary members and host families, and work with host families for the student’s well-being during his/her stay with us. *INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECT – Select and work on international projects. Past projects have included a water project in Africa, and a sewing machine project. * Major Committees—Every Rotarian should be on one of the club’s major committees and at least one other committee. |
